Today's technology has done a lot to change almost every facet of our lives. Today's issue will concentrate on how the insurance industry's relationship with consumers has been affected.
One cannot turn on the television for five minutes without seeing advertisements about purchasing insurance and how best to accomplish it. If one were to pay close attention to all of the commercials aired by all of the different companies trying to drive business to their entity you could conclude that purchasing from an independent insurance agent may be the best outlet for coverage. Without naming any of the companies individually, each one usually promotes one of two things. Purchase online with no agent with the sole benefit of suppossedly saving money or purchasing using a local agent, (captive or independent), and enjoy the benefit of their knowledge and clout in the industry.
Without giving it much thought one of the companies that is the biggest supporter of trying to get one to purchase online uses a commercial that basically proves the value of the independent agent. In this skit it shows a revolving list of companies and their rates stacked up against each other and they claim not to always win the rate war but they will show you which competitor has the best rate for the risk. This has been the concept of the independent agency since its existence and will likely be a driving force for many years to come. Purchase confidently through your independent agency and take comfort in knowing that you are receiving the best personal service available at the best price.
